Taiping Lake Gardens
This is the first cultivated gardens in the country and is regarded as one of the best. A popular venue with the locals for morning walks and evening jogs, it is very well landscaped. Huge angsana trees arch over the streets here, creating a shady boulevard that expands towards the lake.

  • Located within the area is the Taiping Zoo which houses local and exotic wildlife species in excellent surroundings.

Perak Museum
Taiping is home to the country's oldest museum, the Perak Museum. It was built in 1883 and has impressive displays on zoology, history, economy and ethnology. Visitors can also browse through its collection of archaeological treasures such as ancient weapons, aboriginal implements and ornaments.

Taiping Zoo / Night Safari

Taiping Public Library Located at Kota Road facing Taiping Lake Garden, formerly used as the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, which first opened a branch in Taiping in 1888. Bukit Larut(Maxwell Hill)
Bukit Larut is situated in the northeast of Taiping and was formerly known as Maxwell Hill. It is Malaysia's smallest and oldest hill station and was once the retreat for colonial administrators. This resort is especially popular with nature lovers, bird watchers and day trippers.
There is accommodation here in the form of rest houses and bungalows. Transportation up the summit is by Land Rover only.

Teluk Intan Leaning Clock Tower
The town of Teluk Intan (formerly aka Teluk Anson) is mainly noted for its unusual leaning clock tower. This pagoda-like structure has a leftward slant and stands at 25.5 meters height.  It was built in 1885 and was originally used as a covered water tank.

Kellie's Castle
In 1915, William Kellie Smith, an English rubber planter commissioned the construction of this mansion which was never completed. It is believed that this mysterious mansion has hidden rooms and a secret tunnel.
